Ocean Kayak uses salt water resistant 'inserts' to attach components on all NZ made kayaks.

Other kayak brands use self tapping screws and rivets to attach components. using rivets means holes must be drilled into your kayak and therefore they are prone to leakage. Screws are also prone to leakage and sharp dangerous screw points may protrude into the kayak.
